Leeds is one of the most popular universities in the UK for arts degrees offering a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. The Faculty of Arts has around 4,800 undergraduates and a postgraduate population of around 700 studying a wide variety of subjects from philosophy to interpreting and translation studies.
Researchers in the Faculty of Arts are currently running projects worth over £3 million, funded by research councils, charities and the European Union. We were ranked 1st in the UK for responsive awards made by the Arts and Humanities Research Council in the most recently published rankings. The QS World University Rankings place the Faculty as one of the world’s top 100. We are also actively engaged in projects with public sector organisations and the wider business community, from The Imperial War Museum to Google. Post-doctoral researchers in Arts are supported by a networking and development programme in the Leeds Humanities Research Institute and a well-established impact and innovation infrastructure, designed to help all our colleagues realise the full potential of their research.
