At Leeds we have established integrated trans-disciplinary research networks exploring and empowering transformations towards sustainable societies and resilient infrastructure systems within, and beyond, cities. Building on large, interdisciplinary research projects and Centres that address sustainability challenges across societies, systems and infrastructure domains, we pro-actively link together activities across 7 Faculties spanning 3 major thematic areas of Resilient Infrastructure, Sustainable Cities and Building Sustainable Societies.
We bring together world-leading researchers from across disciplines to tackle challenges from social justice and economic sustainability through to resilient infrastructure systems. At the heart of our impressive research and funding portfolio are large grants and cross-disciplinary centres funded by the EPSRC, ESRC and NERC. With a strong reputation for working with community, industry and policy partners, the University of Leeds is at the forefront of helping build more sustainable societies and cities fit for the future and able to face climate change challenges.
