The University Academic Fellowship scheme
The proposition is simple. We want to recruit 250 exceptional University Academic Fellows by 2017 who have the potential to make a major contribution to the University’s academic performance and standing. After successful completion of a structured five year development and induction programme you will be confirmed as an Associate Professor.
Our academic staff and their capabilities are our most important asset and this investment will build a platform for our future. We want to recruit people who will be internationally competitive as future academic leaders contributing to the University’s ambition to excel at REF 2020 and beyond. The appointments align to our core disciplinary strengths and strategies but are typically based in strong cross disciplinary activity or emerging academic platforms and support the major external opportunities and themes for growth identified by the University.
Last year we appointed over 76 outstanding individuals from across the globe to this scheme and this year we will have a range of exciting new opportunities, across all nine of our faculties. Although negotiable it is hoped that all of this year’s successful candidates will be in post by the start of the 2016/17 academic year.
From here you can see the job description and person specification in addition to some information about the probationary period and the development scheme that will be in place to support you. There is also some additional information for anyone who already holds a fellowship and is thinking about transferring it to Leeds.
